The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI is a front-engine, four-wheel drive sedan produced between 1999 and 2001 by Mitsubishi Motors.

Originally intended only for the Japanese market, the «Evolution» models had such demand in the foreign market that Mitsubishi Motors agreed to distribute them, through Ralliart in the United Kingdom and Mitsubishi dealerships in several other European countries.

This opening to the «foreign» market is also due to the very enormous market success in which its long-time direct rival, the Subaru Impreza WRX STi, became.
