The Jaguar XK8 was presented, in coupé and cabriolet versions, at the Geneva Motor Show on March 5 1996, as the replacement for the XJ-S.
This was the first Jaguar car to use the brand's recently developed V8 engine – AJ-V8 – and the first 8-cylinder car produced by Jaguar since the Daimler 250.
Leather and wood interior, driver and passenger airbags as well as side airbags were standard equipment on the XK8.
